Such a funny coincidence, my child and I spontaneously lit a candle today just as it was getting dark. It was very atmospheric. I think semi-darkness leads to better conversation too.

The other day I walked in on my senior studying Chemistry with a candle lit on the table. It's amazing how these little habits trickle down.

I can't bring myself to add more PM2.5 since we get more than enough from wildfires, and the combination of small house and constant vigorous gross motor play would rule out open flames anyway. But we love colorful LED light strands, window decals that make rainbows in the fall through spring while the sun is low enough in the sky to shine in directly, and LED votives (which are extra fun with magnetic tiles) for pleasant light effects.

Thanks for this reminder. Before my kids were old enough to do formal school, I consistently lit a candle during breakfast and would read poetry to them. We've fallen out of the habit, but you're absolutely right. It elevates the whole day. Also, thanks for this series in general. Every tip has been exactly what I need to hear! (Especially clearing off the table before starting work haha)

I’ve been enjoying all of these tips and I’m definitely going to be using this one. My son is obsessed with candles.
