My daughter and I played 2-dimensional Nim from Family Math, which she then transformed into a game of her own, which we all enjoyed playing together.
Cut up an old catalogue, practising scissor skills
At lunch time I read to them from The Natural History Book about conifers, building on our tree study at Kew yesterday. We then talked about oak trees, watched a time-lapse video of an acorn growing into a sapling, and I explained how oaks provide a habitat for 2,300 other species.
We looked at the May chapter from The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady and were excited to recognise lots of the wildlife we’ve been spotting ourselves recently.
Played with a friend
Looked at all the many flowers in our lawn as we are taking part in No Mow May
Bedtime stories: Unicorns Love Rainbow Pants! and Dinosaurs Love Stinky Socks!
Reading in bed: As above. This stuff makes last night’s Pokémon comic look like Shakespeare. But at least you know I’m being honest with you.
