I spent an hour following various basic watercolor tutorials on Youtube last week and at the end of the hour I only thought: why don't I do this more often! Just like you marching out to paint the leaf colors.

I thought of a Charlotte Mason remark when you said your notes on painting were going unrecorded, something along the lines of: 9/10 of what we will tell won't be learned but it's the 1/10 they soak in that matters.

I laughed a couple of times while reading this, first at how as soon as you show interest in doing something then the children find it interesting too, and then at the shapes being requisitioned. Can relate to both scenarios. Children definitely keep you on your toes!

I'd be interested in a post about how/why you moved from unschooling to more structure, if you haven't already written about it.
