Island of the Blue Dolphins was always my favorite "child left to fend for themselves" type of book, I've been looking forward to my daughter picking it up soon!
11yr old enjoyed listening to all of Swiss Family Robinson, and then when she listened to My Side of the Mountain, she felt it was a less-satisfying ending in that his family imposes on the solitude and his vision ends abruptly! (Compared to the 20+ yrs that the Robinsons get.)

Baby Island is good. I enjoyed Lost on a Mountain in Maine as a middle schooler (true story).

My daughter was absolutely furious about the ending to My Side of the Mountain! Haven’t read SWR yet, will add that one to the list.
I suggested it may have been pushed by the publisher—“can’t have children packing up and heading to the wilderness” etc. Unfortunate but possible!
I am so intrigued by The Farthest-Away Mountain -- just put it on hold. Thank you!
My child enjoyed Here Come the Twins, I should get it out for a reread.
Oh, and your daughter may enjoy Rocco by Sherryl Jordan.
Thank you so much, I’ll take a look!
